-- Is Santurce safe? You will not find high-rise hotels nor perfectly paved streets providing an expressionless version of Puerto Rico here, and you don't want that. Santurce has a lot of activity so it is not hard to stay around people and avoid conflict if you choose to. PR is one of the safest Caribbean islands with lower crime rates than many other cities in the United States, the main crime tourists experience is pickpocketing.
Everyone has different comfort levels depending on your personality or experiences, you are encouraged to use your street sense and Uber can take you door-to-door if you have concerns.
